Toyota has revealed stunning Toyota FT-1 concept car at the North American International Auto Show. The name itself FT-1 means "Future Toyota" where the number "1" represents the ultimate. It was formulated for the first time by Calty Design Research for Sony Playstation Gran Turismo game environment, then this concept sports car leapt from screen to the stage in a race-inspired press conference at COBO Hall.
According to the designers, FT-1 has become the ultimate expression of a Toyota coupe design, it's been built based on Toyota's rich sports coupe heritage you can see similarity with Celica, 2000GT, MR2, or something more recent Scion FR-S. This project started 2 years ago and the result is awesome, thanks to the love and passion dedicated by Calty design team. It's a unique fusion between emotional and rational factors that deliver dramatic design expression with iconic Toyota identity. The goal of this project is to develop future generations of products that connect better with Toyota's global consumer base.
Curved, muscular, and expressive body which is seemingly shaped by the wind. Inlets, ducting, and vents are features of the exterior design that help reinforce its track–ready nature with elements of purposeful airflow management.

There's a retractable rear wing that at higher speeds, it deploys and tilt forward to provide you with additional downforce. Aggressive body is expressed with taut surfaces and dramatic fender forms to attract eyes when covered in red hue.
The front engine rear-wheel drive configuration is located at the cockpit far rearward within wheel base, this way, it will improve weight distribution equally. The design elements also consider classic sportscar proportion, something that you can expect from a vehicle designed to dominate the road. Unfortunately, there are no technical specifications for this concept just yet.
