The Mercedes-Benz S class or the S-Klasse is a series of luxury sedans first introduced in 1972, with the W116 model. It replaced the 50’s to 70’s models of the German producer, marking a new era in the history of the company. The S-Class was an ambitious project of Mercedes, as it included some worldwide innovations, not only when it comes to design, but also considering the power of the engine. The safety systems introduced by the S-Klasse are used even today. The vehicle was considered the safest for a long time, being the best selling luxury car in the world. The latest 2013 model, W222 comes with a hybrid version, marking the new preoccupation of Mercedes Benz for environmental-friendly vehicles.
